Who can see and do what
/app/peopleThe four staff roles, what each one unlocks, and which one to give a new hire.
There are four staff roles plus members. Roles stack — everything a crew member can do, a lead can do too.
| Role | Can do | Typical person |
|---|---|---|
| Crew | Clock in and out, see and finish their own jobs, add photos, see the schedule and the map. | Seasonal staff, most of the crew |
| Crew lead | All of the above, plus create and assign jobs, log equipment, and see the whole board. | The person running a mowing crew |
| Manager | All of the above, plus publish schedules, approve time, pull payroll, run the front-of-house screens and see money. | Assistant super, clubhouse manager |
| Owner | Everything, plus billing, API keys, single sign-on, connecting other services, and deleting the account. | Superintendent, GM, whoever signed up |
Changing somebody's role
- 1Open People.
- 2Find the person and change their role in place.
- 3It takes effect on their next page load — they don't need to sign out and back in.
Only an owner can manage billing and keys. A course with exactly one owner is one lost phone away from an awkward week. Make your assistant an owner too.
Members are separate
Somebody with the member role sees the member portal and nothing else — no job board, no crew, no money but their own. A person can't be a crew member and a club member on the same login; give them two, or leave them as staff and add them to the member roster for billing only.
Questions
Can I stop crew from seeing labor costs?
They already can't. Money — hourly rates, labor cost on the schedule, invoices, payroll — is manager and up.
Can a crew lead delete a job somebody else made?
Yes, within your course. Deletion is logged in the audit trail with who did it.
