The agreement, in English.
Short, because a long one mostly protects the party who wrote it.

What you're agreeing to
By creating an account you agree to these terms on behalf of your course. If you're doing that for a city, a club or an employer, you're confirming you're allowed to.
What we provide
Access to Fairway on the tier you've chosen, on a month-to-month basis. We'll keep it running and keep it improving. We don't promise a specific uptime figure, because we'd rather not promise something we can't yet demonstrate — if we have an outage, we'll say so plainly rather than quietly.
What you provide
- Accurate account information, and responsibility for who you invite.
- Lawful use — no using Fairway to break the law or somebody's rights.
- Reasonable use of the platform. If something you're doing is genuinely straining shared infrastructure, we'll contact you before we do anything about it.
Your data is yours
You own everything you put into Fairway. We hold a licence to process it only so far as running the product requires. We don't sell it, don't share it with advertisers, and don't build products out of it. You can export all of it at any time, and we'll delete it on request.
Money
- Paid tiers bill monthly or annually in advance. Cancel any time and you keep access to the end of the period already paid for.
- The platform fee on money you collect through Fairway is 0.9%, disclosed on the pricing page, on top of Stripe's own published rate which we do not mark up.
- Your course is the merchant of record for payments it collects. We never hold your funds.
- If prices change, existing courses keep their price for at least twelve months and we'll email before it happens.
Ending it
You can close your account from the settings page at any time. We may suspend an account for non-payment or for use that's unlawful or harmful to others — and if we do, we'll tell you why and give you a reasonable chance to fix it and to export your data.
The lawyerly part
Fairway is provided as-is. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. This is standard, and it's the reason software this cheap can exist at all.
Questions
If a clause here worries you, ask. We'd rather explain it than have you sign something you don't like.
