Your plan and what it costs

The four tiers, what each unlocks, the platform fee, and how to change plan.

The tiers

TierWhat it adds
GroundskeeperFree, for a crew of twelve. The whole maintenance side — jobs, schedule, clock, fleet, certs, spray, map.
SuperintendentThe drafted suggestions, the shared labor pool, API access and the payroll file.
ClubhouseThe member side — tee sheet, members, dues, events, food and drink, the inbox.
ChampionshipSeveral courses under one login with a rollup, and single sign-on.

The platform fee

0.9% of money collected through Fairway, on top of Stripe's own processing. It applies to invoices a member pays here — dues, events, lockers. Greens fees taken however you take them now aren't counted. It's capped so that your plan plus fees never exceeds the price of the flat top tier: the cap is worked out from the published prices rather than typed in, and it's enforced on the charge itself, so a busy month simply stops being charged. The single exception is a card tapped in person on a reader at the counter, which is the same rate uncapped and outside the cap in both directions — see Taking a card at the counter.

Moving up a tier

  1. 1Open Settings as an owner and pick the tier.
  2. 2You'll go to Stripe to put a card in. Nothing changes on your account until Stripe says it went through — the tier follows the subscription, not the button.
  3. 3Come back and everything the tier unlocks is there.

Moving between two paid tiers doesn't send you to Stripe again — the price on the existing subscription is swapped, and Stripe charges or credits the difference for the days left in the month. You never pay twice for the same days.

Moving down, or stopping

  1. 1Pick Groundskeeper — the free tier — in Settings, or cancel from the Stripe portal. Either works and they do the same thing.
  2. 2You keep the tier you paid for until the period runs out. On the day it does, the course drops to Groundskeeper on its own.
  3. 3The screens that tier included go away. Nothing is deleted: your members, your invoices, your history are all still there, and they come straight back if you come back up.

The card, the receipts, and cancelling

'Card, invoices & cancellation' in Settings opens Stripe's own portal for your subscription. Every receipt we've ever charged you is in there, you can change the card, and you can cancel without asking us or speaking to anybody. We'd rather you could leave in thirty seconds than have to phone someone.

Two different piles of money

This is Fairway's bill to you, on our Stripe account. It's nothing to do with what your members pay you — that goes into your own Stripe account, where your course is the merchant of record and the money never passes through ours.

Month to month

There's no contract and no minimum term. If it stops being worth it, leave — and take everything with you on the way out.

Questions

What happens if I go over the crew limit on the free tier?

You'll be told, and asked to move up. Nobody is locked out of clocking in over a headcount.

Do I pay the platform fee on cash I record by hand?

No. It only applies to money actually collected through Fairway.

What happens if my card is declined?

Stripe retries it and we show you a notice in Settings. We don't switch a course off over a declined card — taking a superintendent's schedule away in the middle of a season is not a collections strategy.

Do I lose the rest of the month if I cancel?

No. You keep the tier until the period you already paid for runs out, and only then does the course move to the free one.

Tell us what's missing and we'll write it. Help that doesn't cover the thing you came for isn't help.
