A booked group event — a company day, a charity scramble, a league championship — usually with food, prizes and a shotgun start.

For a public course this is often the single most profitable day on the calendar and the one with the most moving parts: a field list, a format, carts, food, a rain plan, and a maintenance schedule that has to be finished before the horn.

Fairway is built by people who had to learn all of this.
