Morning assignment
Also: the board · morning meeting
Who is doing what today — traditionally a whiteboard in the shed, read at 5am by a crew standing in front of it.
The whiteboard works. Its failure modes are that it exists in one place, it doesn't survive being erased, and it tells you nothing afterwards about what actually got done or how long it took.
Anything replacing it has to be readable in thirty seconds, on a phone, by somebody wearing gloves, before coffee.
What it means for a small course
If a digital board takes longer to read than the whiteboard did, the crew will keep using the whiteboard, and they will be right.
