Geofence
A radius around the shop that a clock-in has to happen inside for it to count as being at work.
The honest version records the distance from the shop at the moment somebody clocks in and shows it to whoever approves the timesheet. It does not track anybody through their day, and the difference between those two things is the difference between a payroll control and surveillance.
Phone GPS is accurate to tens of metres on a good day. A geofence tight enough to be precise will lock out a crew member standing behind the building.
What it means for a small course
Record the distance, show it, let a human decide. Anything that auto-rejects will be wrong on the morning it matters.
