Aging
Also: accounts receivable aging · AR aging
Outstanding money grouped by how overdue it is — not yet due, 1–30 days, 31–60, 61–90, over 90.
The total tells you how much. The aging tells you whether you have a billing problem or a collections problem, and they are not fixed the same way.
Money in the over-90 bucket is qualitatively different from money that came due last week. Every week it sits there, it gets less likely to arrive.
What it means for a small course
Two courses owed the same total can be in completely different trouble. Look at the shape, not the sum.
